To my young friend, and to all wherever you may be, never give up on the Lord. The answer to your prayers may not be as clear or as timely as you would like, but keep praying. The Lord is listening! As you pray, ask for help in understanding the promptings of the Holy Spirit. And then do your very best to be worthy to receive those promptings. As you recognize or feel the impressions and whisperings of the Spirit, then act upon them. - Donald L. Staheli, “Securing Our Testimonies,” Ensign (CR), November 2004, p.37

Salvation and Exaltation
The greatest news of all times is that Jesus lives and that his atoning sacrifice took place for all people; and when they put their trust in him and indeed walk in obedience to his commandments, there is a way for them to gain salvation and exaltation. - Jacob de Jager, “The Greatest News of All Times Is That Jesus Lives,” Ensign (CR) April 1986
Love (Scott)
You will observe that the antidote for selfishness is love, especially love of the Lord. Love can overpower the undermining effect of selfishness. Love engenders faith in Christ's plan of happiness, provides courage to begin the process of repentance, strengthens the resolve to be obedient to His teachings, and opens the door of service, welcoming in the feelings of self-worth and of being loved and needed. - Richard G. Scott, “We Love You--Please Come Back,” Ensign (CR) April 1986
Stand in Holy Places (Monson)
We must be vigilant in a world which has moved so far from that which is spiritual. It is essential that we reject anything that does not conform to our standards, refusing in the process to surrender that which we desire most: eternal life in the kingdom of God. The storms will still beat at our doors from time to time, for they are an inescapable part of our existence in mortality. We, however, will be far better equipped to deal with them, to learn from them, and to overcome them if we have the gospel at our core and the love of the Savior in our hearts. The prophet Isaiah declared, "The work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever."

He is Mindful of Us (Monson)
Brothers and sisters, I assure you that our Heavenly Father is mindful of the challenges we face in the world today. He loves each of us and will bless us as we strive to keep His commandments and seek Him through prayer. - Thomas S. Monson, “Until We Meet Again,” Ensign (CR) October 2011
Our Code of Conduct (Monson)
Our code of conduct is definitive; it is not negotiable. It is found not only in the Ten Commandments but also in the Sermon on the Mount, given to us by the Savior when He walked upon the earth. It is found throughout His teachings. It is found in the words of modern revelation. - Thomas S. Monson, “Stand in Holy Places,” Ensign (CR) October 2011
The Cost Of Discipleship Is Worth Paying (Faust)
“What is the cost of discipleship? It is primarily obedience. It is the forsaking of many things. But since everything in life has a price, it is a price worth paying, considering that the great promise of the Savior is for peace in this life and eternal life in the life to come. It is a price we cannot afford not to pay.”
–James E. Faust, “The Price of Discipleship”, Ensign, April 1999, 2
Order Gives us Life and Beauty (Faust)
“Just as order gave life and beauty to the earth when it was dark and void, so it does to us. Obedience helps us develop the full potential Heavenly Father desires for us in becoming celestial beings worthy some day to live in His presence.”
–James E. Faust, “Obedience: The Path to Freedom”, May 1999 Ensign
How to Make your Land Zion (Lorenzo Snow)
“Make this a land of Zion in very deed by keeping the commandments of God there-on; and strive to teach your children in such a way, both by example and precept, that they will unhesitatingly follow in your footsteps and become as valiant for the truth as you have been”(The Teachings of Lorenzo Snow, p. 180).
Fear Not, Be of Good Cheer, the Future is Bright (Monson)
“I testify to you that our promised blessings are beyond measure. Though the storm clouds may gather, though the rains may pour down upon us, our knowledge of the gospel and our love of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior will comfort and sustain us and bring joy to our hearts as we walk uprightly and keep the commandments. There will be nothing in this world that can defeat us.
My beloved brothers and sisters, fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith”(Thomas S. Monson, April 2009 General Conference, Be of Good Cheer).
