Bruce R. McConkie, Making Our Calling and Election Sure, Brigham Young University Speeches of the Year [Mar. 25, 1969], 5-6 Taken from “The Gospel and The Producitve Life” Institute Class student manual chaper 7.
"In this prior life, this premortal existence, this preexistence, we developed various capacities and talents. Some developed them in one field and some in another. The most important of all fields was the field of spirituality-- the ability, the talent, the capacity to recognize truth."
I also believe that spirituality is “the most important of all fields” because I believe everything else stems from this knowledge or talent. Good music, for me, allows me to have spiritual experiences. Any scientific discovery was made, I believe, because God was guiding them to that knowledge and they were able to recognize the truth of it. Everything is spiritual and the ability to recognize truth in all things will bring us closer to Christ, whom we are trying to be like.
